How to calibrate the HC Series
The balance auto-detects calibration weights in multiples of 100 g up to its capacity. For 2000 g and larger capacities use at least 500 g, and the closer the weight is to capacity, the better. The 0.01 g model includes a 500 g weight; 0.1 g models (10 kg, 15 kg) do not.
- Turn the balance on.
- Press and hold CAL/PCS until CAL appears.
- Place your calibration weight on the pan; the balance detects it.
- When the display is stable and accurate, remove the weight.
On first use, repeat 2–3 times with the balance level and still. If it's still inaccurate, contact us before returning it.
Linear (multi-point) calibration
- Turn on, then immediately press TARE twice and CAL/PCS once. 01-diu appears.
- Press UNIT until 04-CAL, then press TARE.
- Press UNIT to cycle CAL 1–CAL 5 and choose the number of points; confirm with TARE.
- When the display shows Put 1, place the first weight it calls for; at Put 2, place the next. Calibration ends when the display shows the full weight.
Tare and counting
Tare: place an empty container, press TARE until 0 shows, then add your sample. Press TARE again to reset.
Counting: press TARE, then press and hold CAL/PCS to cycle 10, 20, 50 and 100. Press CAL/PCS at the number matching your sample, place that many pieces, and press CAL/PCS to confirm. The display now counts pieces. Press CAL/PCS to exit.
Error messages and troubleshooting
| What you see | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| OVER or –OL– | Overloaded | Remove weight until 0 shows. |
| Reading won't settle / decimal point flashes | Drafts, vibration, something touching the pan, temperature swings, unstable power | Close doors and vents, remove vibration sources, check under the pan, use a voltage stabilizer. |
| No signal from the sensor | Pan not seated | Make sure the pan contacts its support. If that fails, contact support. |
| Large weighing error | Out of calibration | Compare with a known weight and recalibrate. |
| Display won't turn on | Power cord | Reseat or replace the cord. |

- Turn on, press TARE twice and CAL/PCS once.
- At 01-dlU, press UNIT until 09-odE, then TARE.
