About Water Baths

In the lab, a water bath is used to incubate samples at a constant temperature sustained over time. The equipment consists of a container filled with water that is heated to a temperature that is set on an interface and then maintained automatically. Uses include the incubation of cell cultures, the activation of chemical reactions, and the warming and melting of substances.
